Welcome to 2012 WJFA Falcon Football!
We have almost completed registration for the upcoming 2012 season. There are just a couple of weeks left and many of our teams are near full. Thank you for your support!
To advance the mission of WJFA, it’s our goal to develop a system approach to better align ourselves with the Woodinville High School program. When you look across the landscape of Junior and High School football programs and focus in on those that seem to consistently deliver a high quality product, you see a clear connection - and the rewards go both ways.

The Junior football program gets coaches trained by the high school coaches, each year players improve thru consistency in using playbook strategies, and parents and families build a stronger community identity by being part of a single program.
The High School program gets an incoming class of players and parents that know the drills, terminology, schemes and plays and, just as important, are already invested in the program. It significantly reduces the learning curve and provides momentum for another successful season.
Over the past few years we’ve laid some of the groundwork to bring the programs closer together and this year we have an opportunity to make it real. We are changing our uniforms, helmets and logo to match the high school team. On the coaching side we’ve set up training sessions with the WHS Head Coach, Wayne Maxwell, and his staff. The WJFA board and the WHS Gridiron Booster club are now working closely with each other to coordinate the use of vendors and share resources where appropriate.
As part of this effort we’ve added a new “Program Director” that will be integral in further supporting the mission of WJFA and subsequent success.

We’re pleased to announce that former WHS Gridiron resident, Rob Schwend, has agreed to take on the role this season. Rob’s background includes six years on the board of Woodinville Little League (three as president), seven years as District Safety Officer for the 15 local Little Leagues, past president of the WHS Falcon Athletic Booster club, and six years on the WHS Gridiron board, the last three as president. Rob’s youngest son will graduate from WHS in June and we’re thrilled that we could talk him into delaying his retirement from youth sports a little longer to help us out this season.

Coaches Interviews and Selection Wrapping Up
posted 5/18/2012 by WJFA Speaks
Over the last few months, the WJFA Coaching Committee has gone through an extensive process of interviewing head coaching candidates for the upcoming 2012 season. Your board has taken this very seriously and we feel that at this point, we have made the best decisions for our program and more importantly, our players.
Head coaches are being contacted and they are pulling together their coaching staffs. An announcement with all the coaching decisions will be made soon. Volunteer coaches are the backbone to this club and our success. The first words when greeting your coach this year should be, "thank you."

WJFA Adopts High School Colors and Helmets
posted 2/9/2012 by Gary B

The new Woodinville Junior Football Board voted in January to adopt the coaching plays of the High School program. The board is sending a clear message of it's intentions by changing team colors to reflect the high school program. Say's Board member Matt Laccinole, "this is the program I grew up in and Woodinville is where I played. I'm excited to see my boy in these colors."
